E Experia is actually very HOT looking. Soo nice. Only big disadvantage is it's a bit more bulky because of the qwerty board. Other than that it's nice. It has all the bells and whistles except that the built in memory is only 512 MB compared to 16GB on iPhone and Omnia.
iPhone 3G. Not bad, but could be better. Only thing I can praise about it is that it's one of the best touchscreen phones around. With the Multi-touch, accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
Samsung i900 Omnia is not bad either. With a 5MP camera. But the battery life sucks compared to SE and Apple. It doesn't have a 35mm headphone jack either.
For me, I would pick SE Experia. Since I am more of a Windows fan.
This statement is only half true, as it only make the Xperia looks crooked, without mentionning that it has a expansion slot for microSDHC card, which has potentially up to 32GB of storage space, which the omnia and iphone lacks. Also not included but can be obtained after you buy the xperia is a 4 or 8 GB card with Hancock movie on it when you register the xperia on sony site.
The omnia on the other hand has the fastest CPU, the marvell xscale 628Mhz, the xperia uses the slower qualcomm 528 Mhz cpu, but has the higher resolution screens, a terribly bad decission on samsung. I skipped the omnia as well as the xperia for a touch HD which is similar in size as an iphone but a bigger screen and higher resolutions, I felt a little cramped using the xperia and the omnia is just does not have the wvga resolution screen.
Eventhough the iphone folks are saying that safari is the best browser on a mobile, it is nowhere near as usefull as opera on my htc touch HD, atleast opera is not as crashy as safari nor do I have to zoom to be able to read a page. I don't know about safari, but opera atleast has java support as well as flash plugins.
On a usability view, the higher resolution screen make the HD better suited for office documents, media player, foto viewing and surfing the net. Also the best supported platform in the form of xda forum, where there are a lot of enthusiast trying to better their devices everyday and helpfull members who would help you on your way.
iphoneist:
altho i fucking love the phone, there are a few con that ive noticed after using it for a while:
Camera: No flash, no zoom, doesn't do video, only 2mp. Basically it's WANK.
Bluetooth: Doesn't really 'do' bluetooth as such. You can have it linked nicely to other devices (headsets, Macs) but you can't use b'tooth to send pics, music etc to other phones. Something worth considering when you think about how you'll transfer your contact list. Software update might fix this in the future.
Battery life is bad.
